Memorial Day is a great time for that first big neighborhood barbecue of the season. With high gas prices across the country, chances are you too will stay home and cook out. A little extra effort can add a lot of extra flavor to the traditional dishes you love, but wish were a bit more exciting. Cook the bacon until cooked through but not crisp. Let cool. Chop the bacon into 1/2-inch pieces. Mix the bacon, onions, parsley and cheese. Blend meat with seasoning. Form 8 patties out of meat. Place one fourth of cheese/bacon mixture in center of four patties and top with remaining four patties. Crimp sides to make four "stuffed" burgers. Grill until cooked to desired doneness. Flavorful Italian Pasta SaladIngredients
Cook pasta according to al dente directions. Rinse with cool water. Place in large bowl and cover with oil and vinegar. Add Italian seasoning and tomatoes with some of their juices (enough to make a nice sauce, but not too runny). Stir in olives, red pepper strips and Parmesan cheese.
