Apple Pork Chops & Other Quick Recipes Using Six Ingredients or Less

A pantry full of ingredients isn't necessary to make a flavorful meal the family will love. Save time and money with these easy recipes.

Everyone seems pressed for time these days. Often, when a family finds itself hurried, short-cuts tend to be made in the meal preparation department.

With these simple and time saving one-dish dinner recipes, hearty, nutritious food doesn’t need to be replaced with a trip to the local burger place or a call for pizza delivery.

Apple Pork Chops with Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 6 pork loin chops, boneless
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 package stuffing mix
  • 1 can (21 oz) cinnamon flavored apple pie filling

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat canola oil over medium heat.
  2. Add pork chops to heated oil; brown over medium-high heat.
  3. Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions; set aside.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Spread apple pie filling into grease baking dish (13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in).
  6. Place browned pork chops over pie filling in single layer; top with prepared stuffing.
  7. Cover and bake for 35 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Serve with green beans or corn on the side if desired.

Zesty Chicken with Creamy Vegetable Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 4 large boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup zesty Italian dressing
  • 1 package (16 oz) frozen broccoli, carrots and cauliflower
  • 1 can (10-3/4 oz)condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tub (8 oz) garden vegetable cream cheese spread
  • 1 cup season croutons

Directions:

  1. Place chicken breast in a large bowl or large plastic Ziploc bag; pour zesty Italian dressing on chicken. Marinade in refrigerator for at least an hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  3. Prepare vegetable mix according to package directions; drain and place in large bowl.
  4. Stir in condensed soup and cream cheese; coat vegetables well.
  5. Transfer vegetable/soup mixture to greased 1-qt baking dish.
  6. Place marinated chicken on top of vegetables; sprinkle croutons over entire dish.
  7. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

Ham and Cheese Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ready made mashed potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked ham diced
  • 1 cup (4oz) cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes ad garlic salt.
  2. Spread seasoned mashed potatoes onto greased 1-qt casserole dish; sprinkle chopped ham on top.
  3. Fold shredded cheddar cheese into whipping cream; spoon mixture over potatoes and ham.
  4. Bake uncovered at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Speedy Baked Bean Chili

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 3 large cans (28 oz each) Bold & Spicy Bush’s Baked Beans
  • 1 large can (28 oz) Hunts diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (46 oz) tomato juice
  • 1 can (11-1/ oz) V8 juice
  • 1 envelope chili seasoning

Directions:

  1. In a Dutch oven, brown ground beef over medium heat; drain.
  2. Stir in beans, tomatoes, juices and seasoning mix.
  3. Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
  4. Simmer uncovered over low heat for 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with French or corn bread.
