Camping in the fresh air makes everyone hungry. Try these simple recipes for good campout snacks.

One of the best parts of camping is cooking over an open fire. The food just seems to taste better in the fresh air. Here's some good foods for campouts.

Camp Biscuit Dough

This dough mix should be made ahead and put into baggies for use during the campout. It has many uses once made.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup water

Procedure

  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Grate in the margarine, mixing until coarse crumbs form.
  3. Store in a baggie with "add 3/4 cup water" written on the outside.
  4. When ready to use, add the water and stir until dough forms. (makes about 2-1/2 cups of dough)
  5. Use in one of the following recipes
